Its Been 17 Days Since I #QuitSmoking!
It’s been 17 Days since I quit smoking. All is going extremely well. The cravings continue, but are becoming less intense and more and more infrequent. The patch is definately helping. I graduated to Step 2 with the nicoderm patch last Sunday. Monday & Tuesday were a bit rough with the reduced nicotine level but I’ve adjusted now.
The question is, after seventeen days, have I really quit smoking? When can someone truely say that they’ve quit smoking? Is it like being an alcoholic? Once a smoker, always a smoker? I think it’s the later, so I’m just going to say I’ve stopped smoking, cause I got to tell you, “I do love smoking”. I don’t think the pleasure of smoking will ever leave. All I can do is continue on and keep using my positive affirmation statement, “I DO NOT SMOKE” until Mr. Cigarette is no longer a omnipresence in my life. That day will come, it’s just going to take awhile.
