What Is Up With Filipino Women and Money?
Can anyone tell me what is up with Filipino women and money. I met my new Boo on eharmony. She’s a really awesome lady in so many ways. Warm, loving, intelligent, passionate, everything a man could want. But I have begun to notice that the subject of money comes up almost everyday. We’ve only been dating for about 3 weeks. When we talk about money the conversation varies but the point is always the same. “It’s not about the money, I just want to be taken care of”? Sometimes that exact quote is said and sometimes it’s implied. If it isn’t about the money then I don’t know what it is about……?
HUGE RED FLAG!!!!
She knows I’m a broke ass white boy. I was up front with her in the beginning. Well, I’m not broke, I can pay my mortgage and bills and have a little extra money at the end of the month as long as I spend carefully.
She is also having an issue with her children. Apparently after her Divorce was final she told her kids that when she remarries she would remarry for money. The quote she used was, “The first time I married for love, the second time I’ll marry for money”. We’ll there ain’t no money here…. Her kids bought into it and where expecting it. Now she’s telling her kids that I’m rich with Love… and doing a lot of back peddling with them..
I’m having a real difficult time digesting all this. Before our first date a friend of mine asked me what her nationality is. I said, she’s Filipino. My friends response was, “Don’t bring your wallet with you!, just a small amount of cash in your pocket”. No lie, that’s what he said. I know Filipino women do have that reputation for wanting to be taken care of. But she does seem to generally like me, after all she knows I’m not well off.
I want to be able to take care of her, like I would like to be able to take care of all the people that I love. But I’m starting to feel like I’m under the gun. She seems to have this expectation that I can and will do well in the future. But what if I don’t, what is she going to do…?? I do not want to waste my time here… Remember my brain still isn’t 100% functional and all this plus the dating takes a toll…
Can you see my dilemma here…?? On one hand she does really seem to be in love with me. On the other hand there is this money issue. What happens when the scale tips toward the lack of money. Will she then jump ship??
I know that there are thousand of guys out there that have had the same of similar experiences with Filipino women… Any advice of tips would be greatly appreciated!!!
