One Mans Personal Blog About his Divorce, Credit Card Debt, Toe Nail Fungus and his Journey to Find All the Answers to Those Nagging Little Problems We Have on the Internet

Introduction

The Divorce
Welcome to my personal blog. We’ll here I sit, It was just about four weeks ago that that my wife of twenty years told me that she hasn’t loved me for the past 17 years and that she has a new boyfriend. She tells me this with an air of arrogance, like I should have known and that I need to take it like a man. Just kick me in the testicles while I’m down why don’t you. But hey, she’s in love. A real catch she has, high school diploma, lives with his mother at the age of 47 and doesn’t even have a drivers license. But hey, who am I to judge. I must admit, I’m a lot luckier the most guys. She doesn’t want anything from me. Split up everything 50/50 and we go our separate ways. After all, all we have is $40,000 in credit card debt, our mortgage and our clothes. But the 42” LCD TV is mine!!! Our son will be 18 in a year so there are no issues there. He by the way is handling all this like a real trooper, a lot better than me in fact. He says, “Dad, she going to do what she going to do, we have no say in it.” Then he goes on to say, “Besides, I now have another person to milk for money”. I can’t fault him for that. Everyone is telling me to watch out. She’s made a drastic change, who knows what will pop into that inept head of hers. True, but the thought of saving thousands of dollars on lawyer’s fees is just too enticing for me. I’m on a mission to stay under her radar and ride it out until the divorce is final, which won’t be for awhile.

Discovering Happiness
For years my son and I made fun of her because of her ineptness. We would sit there and laugh because we just couldn’t believe the stuff that was coming out of her mouth. We also nick named her the nag monster for her ability to come at you like a feral cat in heat. She just wouldn’t stop nagging you until she got what she wanted out of you.

While I was reflecting on everything that had happened, I noticed a strange feeling in the pit of my stomach. It was a combination of excitement and happiness. It was that pit of your stomach happiness, the kind you get when you’re in love for the first time. I then realized that I was happy for the first time in a very long time. I was astonished, but then I realized that it was for the reasons above and more that I was happy. I was rid of her. Don’t get me wrong, I love her, but like her, I realized I was not in love with her. That explains why I would give her the finger at least once a day behind her back. I was with her only because of our son and because I knew someone had to watch out for her because she is truly inept when it comes to life situations.

So I’m happy now. I’m free. I can start a new life, hopefully with someone that likes to have sex. Now it’s time to get busy. Time to get my finances in order, time to hit the internet dating scene, time to take care of that toenail fungus I’ve had for years, time to fix a lot of things. Thank god for the internet, I can find all the answers there, or so I thought.

What is up with the Internet
So I hit the internet running and what I found was, and I’m sure you have to, there are thousands and thousands of totally worthless, useless, forgotten websites that are 98% adds and 2% worthless content. I don’t know how many hours I wasted trying to find simple information about fixing credit card debt, let alone curing toenail fungus. I just wanted an answer without paying $29.95 and I wanted it now.

The Answer
The question I had was why is there so much crap on the internet? I discovered the answer. Everyone thinks by throwing up a web page with a few paragraphs of meaningless rubbish and throwing a few ads on it that they’ll be the next big Internet entrepreneur. But after 3 months of hours and hours of work they get there first check from whatever affiliates they joined for $2.06. So they give up. Meanwhile the rest of us are stuck with that worthless webpage they threw up. Wasting our time….. click, go back, click, go back, click go back… it just goes on and on until two hours later we find what were looking for. Below are links to a few websites that I have found to be good reliable sources of information

About.Com
ehow.com

The Mission
Well I can’t fix the internet, but I can create a great Personal Blog, what have you where people can come to find straight answers, a place where they can find links to everyday off the wall problems without being totally inundated with Viagra ads. Now I am not an expert or a professional writer, as you may have noticed. My friends say I’m a Jack of all trades but a master of none. I excel at research, finding the right answer. Give me a question and I’ll go all out to find the right answer. (I should have been a lawyer.) So why not apply what I’m good at and maybe help some people find the answer there looking for.

  1. Hey dude, love the post. So open and honest. I agree with you on the serious amount of junk on the net.

    • Andy says:

Thanks Fred! I’ve realized I’m repeating my own history. Back in 90’s, when I initially got into Web design it was because the websites were so hideous. I felt I could do better. Now I’m at it again. This time because of all the cookie cutter websites out there.

    Andy,
You should have a look at Dave Ramsey’s “Get Out of Debt” Ideologies. It can be painful, but rewarding too in the long run. FWIW: http://www.daveramsey.com/

    Good luck!

Hi Keith, I checked him out, I actually never heard of him before. He’s preaching the right thing in my opinion, just in his own style. I saw some of the critics reviews of him, but their criticism just came down to investment style. As far as I’m concern there is no right or wrong. It’s a matter of being in the right place at the right time.

I added him to my financial links.

Thanks for the tip, very much appreciated!

      Andy
